A wall hanging for my nursery and a shampoo review :)

Okay, here is my latest project.  Like most of my projects it's pretty simple.  I'll move my way up eventually :)

I took this boring old bulletin board that I had lying around from my collge days

1) stained the edges to match my son's room
2) put tissue paper as a background using double sided tape (staples work too)
3) used double sided tape again to put on all the congrats cards, some pictures of him, and a couple other little things.

I think it turned out pretty cute.  It will look great over his crib. . . as soon as we get one.  His crib was recalled and we got a cosleeper for him (which I LOVE by the way).  So we'll wait awhile to get another crib.

Anyways, I am also doing a review for some Organix shampoo and conditioner.  Let me start by saying that I LOVE Organix!  I actually contacted them because I love their products so much.  I use their coconut milk conditioner every day and it makes my hair smell SO good!

Well they sent me a shampoo and conditioner from their new line, Cherry Blossom Ginseng.

Consensus: LOVE IT!  It smells just as good as my beloved Coconut Milk and left my hair soft, smooth, and full of body.  I actually have a slight dandruff problem (sorry for the TMI) which is why I usually use head and shoulders shampoo and the coconut milk conditioner BUT this shampoo has actually not given me any dandruff problems!  And best of all. . . It's husband approved!  My husband actually noticed how good my hair smelt and said it reminded him of how it smells when I go to the salon.  So basically, best shampoos and conditioners ever!  And as you can guess by the name, they use organic, natural ingredients and are environmentally friendly!  Check it out :)

Idea Sharin' Wednesday and crochet flower headbands

You lucky readers! We've got a second giveaway this week!

This giveaway is closed, the winner was Ranae.

Okay you have to check these out!  Versatile hand dyed, sun dried wraps!  Introducing. . . Rraps, a great little shop from the heart of Sydney!  Shop owner Christine mixes the colors by hand so they are unique and gorgeous!

And all aspects of production are environmentally friendly!

I had so much fun browsing through Chrisitne's selection because her pieces are so unique and hip!  Her rraps come in three sizes, Maxi and Midi, which can be worn on your head, around your neck, or on your body (I think they would look fabulous over a basic tee)!  They are great for layering and accessorizing!  And mini rraps can be worn as a headband, belt, neclace, or scrunchie!  The posibilities truly are endless!

They also sell tops and skirts!  I learned that the skirts will stretch to accomodate a pregnant woman, giving comfortable support to that heavy belly AND can still be worn after pregnancy because they do not loose their shape.  Man do I wish I had one of those when I was pregnant!  So comfy!

In a nutshell, Rraps offers up and coming fashion at very reasonable pricesCheck out this shop!

Here is what the generous Christine has donated as a giveaway. . . a Maxi, Midi rrap set!  See above for all of the many things you can do with those sizes.  And what's even better, you choose the colors!

Here's how to enter:
Don't forget to leave a SEPERATE comment for each thing you do :)

Make some cute accessories!

Looking for the Twin Stitchers giveaway?  Click here

I've noticed more and more that this is becoming a place for me to list projects I want to do rather than projects I have done.  Such is the life of a busy  mom, huh?  I'm  hoping to have some more time to actually do some of these projects soon, but in the mean time here are some more great ideas I've found looking around.

All of these ideas are from Make It and Love It.  Ashley has tons of great ideas!  I had fun looking through them all last night and wanted to share some of my favorites.

Do you have any scarves lying around that you never wear?  I know I do.  Well here are two ideas for easy projects to put them to good use.

Little lady leg warmers!  Click here for a tutorial.

A hat for your little guy.  Click here for a tutorial.

And make something for yourself too!
Mod Podge shoes, I kid you not!  Have fabric left over from making yourself a shirt or a skirt?  Make some shoes to match!  Or just make some cute shoes, you don't even need to know how to sew!  Just use those cutting and glueing skills you learned in kindergarten :)  Click here for a tutorial.

Or how about a super easy fabric headband?  Cute!

What about some felt hair clips?  (for the little ones of course)

And last but not least, an adorable purse made from tea towels!

Well I have two treats in store for you tomorrow!  1) The winner of the prize for our link up party will be announced, including what the prize actually is :) and 2) A second giveaway for the week will be announced, and it's a cool one!  Happy Monday!

What do YOU want a tutorial for?

I want to know what YOU want to learn how to make!  Give me your ideas and I will find a way to make it!  So let me have it, what would you like a tutorial for?

Also, check out this fun blog, Flab to Fab.  It's like The Biggest Loser for bloggers.  How fun!  And root for my cousin Kari because she was chosen to be a contestant!

And one more feature from last weeks link-up party:
Is it a cupcake stand?
Or a centerpiece?
It's both!  And what's better?  It cost her only $4!!!  And looks like it took about one minute to make.  Check it out at Ready-Set-Create!  Click here for the tutorial.

And sorry for the lack of post yesterday.  Busy weekend!  Hope you all had as fun a weekend as I did :) and hope you did some cool projects to share on "idea sharin' Wednesday!"

Wow, I'm a blonde! VINTAGE PEARL WINNER!!!

So I guess I posted the winner of the Vintage Pearl Giveaway on my personal blog instead of this one.  And what's even worse is I wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for my cousin Kari clueing me in (thanks!)  So anyways, here is the winner, sorry it's a little late.

And the winner is. . . 33

Friday night means a new giveaway!

This giveaway has closed.  The winner was Lyndsay.  Congrats Lyndsay!

Okay, so this week's giveaway is sponsored by Twin Stitchers.  They have the most adorable stitchery patterns!  I'll admit I have never done any stitchery myself, but after looking at thir patterns I am definetly going to get into it!  They have so many cute prints that would make great decorations or gifts!  They have donated a $20 gift certificate which will buy you quite a few of their great patterns!  And best of all, they are easy to follow so anyone can do it!

Here are some of my favorites:

Another great plus: Many of their patterns are available in an "E-version" which means you can get started right away.  If you're anything like me, when you decide you want to do a project you want to do it NOW :) and with an E-pattern that's no problem!

Notice that I have a TON of pictures here?  Why?  Honsetly it was so hard to choose just a few of their patterns!  I think this could be my newest obsession :)

Oh, and they just came out with a new line, including great gifts (made with love of course) for mom on Mother's Day

This could be a fun mother-daughter night project too!

So what do you have to do to enter?  This week's entries are the same as last week's entries.  Remember to leave a seperate comment for each thing you do as each comment counts as an entry and if you are already doing one of these things just leave me a comment letting me know that.

mandatory entry:
1) Go to The Twin Stitchers website and find  your favorite pattern (this could be tough!)  then come back here and tell me in a comment which one you chose, simple as that!

optional entries:
2) Become a follower of Twin Stitchers
3) Display the Twin Stitchers button on your blog
4) Become a follower of Women Who Do It All
5) Display the Women Who Do It All button on your blog  (any of the three)
6) Blog, facebook, or tweet about this giveaway (whichever you use more)
7) Stop back every day this week and leave another comment saying whatever you would like :)

And a little secret for those of you who actually read all the text :) not that I blame you if you don't, I mean who actually has enough hours in their day?  Anyways, there are going to be two giveaways this week (and actually next week as well) so check back later in the week for another great giveaway.  I mean chances are you will win eventually :)

I'm off to work on some projects, which I will share with you tomorrow!

Oh, and the winner will be announced next Friday (April 2nd) at 11pm (midnight wasn't working so well since that is my son's bedtime) so you have until then to enter.  Good luck!

A sneak peek into some upcoming giveaways and a couple projects

Well I've been busy today working on this:
These signs are very popular right now and I love them!  They are so expensive to order so I decided to make one myself (it's a gift for someone, they make great gifts!)  Anyways, I had so much fun making it I decided to sell them on etsy (among other things, most of which will be coming in the next month or two).  So if you would like one (any colors), click here.  I looked around at prices and made sure mine are the cheapest.  I am also currently giving a 10% discount on anything in my shop for my blog followers.  I am going to sell custom vinyl lettering for all of your projects and what not (again 10% off for you guys) and I have made sure to have the cheapest price on that too.  I will be having a giveaway of my own as soon as I get it all stocked up.  I plan to sell much more than what is in there currently.

Anyways, I also wanted to share the other project I've been working on.  Remember how I was teaching myself to crochet?  Well I made myself a simple headband with a pattern off the Lion Brand website.  They have tons of free patterns so check them out if you are looking to crochet something.  I am working on making my own pattern for a much cooler heaband soon to be in my etsy shop, but here is what I made with the Lion Brand pattern:

A couple giveaways and a guest blog!

Okay first things first, there are a couple great giveaways going on out there right now:

1) An AWESOME workout DVD at Fitness For The Rest of Us.  It's almost swimsuit season ladies!  Click here!

2) A cute neclace with matching earings at Glued to My CraftsClick here!

And now for a guest blog. . .

Hello out there from Crafty Girls Workshop!  This is my first post swap so I hope you'll join me on a quick shop and blog tour.

The Crafty Girls Workshop is made up of Regina (our fabulous shipping and receiving department, plus pattern tester/sample maker) and Anna (me) who is techy oriented and does a lot of the online stuff such as manage shop listings, e-mailing customers and posting to the blog. I also sew when I get the chance but lately there just aren't quite enough hours in the day to do everything I want to (and daylight savings time doesn't help either!)

Since Jill has such a cute little boy, I thought I'd feature a pattern we have that is great for a baby. It's the Baby Overalls pattern by Jackie Clark. I really LOVE Jackie Clark's patterns. They are practical and stylish and relatively easy to make. I haven't personally made any yet, but Regina (our pattern tester) and some other friends around blogland have said they are great go-to patterns for making gifts for friends. I've put together a little collage of some fabrics that I think would be adorable made into these overalls. The best thing about this pattern, I think is that it's great for a boy OR girl! Just change the fabrics and add a ruffle for the girl pattern and pockets for the boy!

Here are some cute fabrics we have from the new Make Life line by Sweetwater. It's 100% cotton and perfect for overalls for a baby boy.

I just love these Candy Kisses fabrics by Sandy Gervais, they are small prints and perfect for this pattern for a little girl.

Finally, I want to mention that I posted a tutorial for a really pretty pillowcase on our blog recently. I included a printable PDF link so you can print it out and keep it handy next to your sewing machine. It's another great last minute project to make for gifts for friends.

Thanks for the post Crafty Girls Workshop!

I will be posting some more of your projects from the link up party later today.  If you havn't linked up yet, join the party!  There are prizes in store!

Make it yourself and save! Gorgeous wall art and adorable baby tights

Is that not gorgeous?!  It looks like $200+ art, but is far from it.  Check out the tutorial from Life on Dahlia Lane

Adorable!  Click here for the tutorial from Made By Rae

And one last thing, I found a review of what looks to be all the companies who make mineral makeup from That's So Cuegly.  I know I have thought about trying mineral makeup but didn't know what to get, so I thought this was pretty helpful and wanted to pass along the link.  Click here
