I started with this lovely console table (which is actually a bookcase from Office Depot). There's not much light in the entry way so I added the lamp and a couple of my favorite picture frames that I had lying around. So this is what it looked like about a month ago.
Here's a close up of the pictures. This was before baby Noah was born.
I also got these cute baskets to go in the shelves (also from Office Depot). Love them!
This is what it looks like now.
Once Noah was born I of course wanted one picture of each of my cute boys so I needed to get a new frame because the one that previously had our family picture in it is pink. I moved that one somewhere else and got the cute blue one you see there. Here's a close up.
So that's what you see right when you walk into our little place. There's also space on the wall next to the door, so I put this cute quote in vinyl to remind me to enjoy my little guys, even when it's a challenge :)
One thing though: I can't decide between the "family" letters you see picture above or the "welcome" blocks below. Both are bigger than what I would ideally want, so I can't decide which looks better. Of course if I went with the welcome blocks I would get rid of the family letters and put the blocks in that spot.
I made the blocks with a 4x4 (which is actually a 3 1/2 x 3/12 my step dad tells me). He cut one into blocks for me and I covered the fronts with scrapbooking paper and cut vinyl letters to go on them.
What do you think?
Baby Noah is one month today. Time flies! He's still being a little angel (so grateful for that!), but of course he (and his brother) are still keeping my very busy!
I like the family since you have pictures of family there...if no-one would steal them I'd say put the welcome ones on your porch :)

Looks really nice! Toss up between the two. You could always put the Family blocks on a mantle or above a door, that way you could you both. Always hard, I can find either nothing or too much for a certain spot.
ReplyDeleteLove it - love the blocks, love the Welcome and Family thoughts! Your foyer is warm, welcoming, and beautiful - thanks for sharing at the Sundae Scoop link party!
ReplyDeleteLove love your quote is so beautiful... may I borrow it for my blog? The entry is so warm and inviting! Love it!
