Banana Split in a jar
Summer time for our family always has to include
some sort of ice cream yumminess!
And with the huge JAR craze that is hitting blogland,
I just knew I wanted to jump on that.
Something about a treat in a jar that just makes
it soooo much cuter!
(Anyone else on the jar band wagon???)
We had banana splits last week for a late night snack,
and for a little bit of fun,
I layered them in these cute little squatty jars.
They were the perfect "it is too hot to bake" treat.
Banana Splits in a Jar
6 sugar cones, crushed
2-3 tbsp. butter, melted
Stir together the crumbs and butter until mixed. Divide the mixture into 6 jars. Press down on the bottom and set aside.
8 large scoops vanilla ice cream, softened
2 bananas, mashed
hot fudge
strawberry topping
cool whip
sprinkles
cherries
Stir together the ice cream and bananas. Place the ice cream back in the freezer and let set up again slightly. (you just don't want it to be runny when you pour it onto the crust...I learned this the hard way if you notice by my picture;-) Layer the ice cream and one layer of each toppings not quite to the top of the jar. Top with cool whip, sprinkles and a cherry.
See you next Thursday with another yummy treat!
