The Lazy Sunday Dress

Happy Monday All!
I have to tell you I am so excited for today. I have been so looking forward to sharing this dress with you. I made this dress a few weeks ago. I really needed a new pretty Sunday dress, for church. I had no money to go shopping, but I did have a closet I could raid. I went into my closet and found this teal shirt and very long black skirt. I decided to put them on Dolores, as I loving call my dress form, and see what I could come up with. I decided to go with the ever popular high waisted look.

Once I had the skirt placed where I wanted,
I decided I needed to add a little bit of lace.

I pinned everything in place and got to sewing.

Once all three pieces were sewed together, I flipped up the skirt part and cut off the extra shirt material. Recognize this fabric at all? It is what I used to make the Braided Fabric Headbands I shared on my blog a month ago.

Once I had trimmed my excess material, my dress was finished.

Now I have a new Lacey Sunday dress. I have received so many compliments on this dress. It is seriously crazy how simple it was to make this.

Also funny side note story, at church last week Libby was wearing a dress I had re-purposed for her. It ended up she matched her teacher. Her teacher was wearing the same dress, pre re-purposing. Libby thought that was kind of fun and her teacher was amazed that I was able to cut it down to four year old size.
Very cool:>

Before I go, I wanted to let you all know I have a new giveaway going on over at my blog. It is from Buttons-n-Blossoms. Hop on over and check it out.

Anyway I hope you all have a fabulous week.
and I will be posting the winner of the vinyl Expressions Wall Art giveaway later on today:>

  2. How creative of you, it certainly looks like it requires much more work to make this dress
