The Weekend Splurge

Well I'm definetly going to be splurging today.  We're going out with  my mom and her hubby to Wingers today.  Yum.  And we just may get some asphalt pie :)  Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!  If you're not (or even if you are) make yourself one of these sweet treats and you're bound to feel better.

Strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting from The Sweet Life.  Looks yummy!

Cinnamon Coffee Cake.  Doesn't that sound delicious?!  Find it at Sweet Little Smoothie.

Brownie Bottom Cheesecake with Nutella Whip.  Oh my, that sounds like heaven.  This is my kind of dessert!  Find it over at The Kitchen Cookie.

Creme Brulee.  One of my favorites!  You can find this treat at Making Messes.

Raspberry Ribbon Coffee Cake.  Also from The Kitchen Cookie.

Lemon Cheesecake Bars from A Mom, Not a Pro.  Don't these look beautiful and delicious?!

My Entry Way Reveal

I've finally finished decorating our entry way!  Since the hubby still has one more year of school we are still in an apartment and thus, are limited on what we can do.  BUT I think the entry way turned out nice!

I started with this lovely console table (which is actually a bookcase from Office Depot).  There's not much light in the entry way so I added the lamp and a couple of my favorite picture frames that I had lying around.  So this is what it looked like about a month ago.

Here's a close up of the pictures.  This was before baby Noah was born.

I also got these cute baskets to go in the shelves (also from Office Depot).  Love them!

This is what it looks like now.

Once Noah was born I of course wanted one picture of each of my cute boys so I needed to get a new frame because the one that previously had our family picture in it is pink.  I moved that one somewhere else and got the cute blue one you see there.  Here's a close up.

So that's what you see right when you walk into our little place.  There's also space on the wall next to the door, so I put this cute quote in vinyl to remind me to enjoy my little guys, even when it's a challenge :)

One thing though:  I can't decide between the "family" letters you see picture above or the "welcome" blocks below.  Both are bigger than what I would ideally want, so I can't decide which looks better.  Of course if I went with the welcome blocks  I would get rid of the family letters and put the blocks in that spot.

I made the blocks with a 4x4 (which is actually a 3 1/2 x 3/12 my step dad tells me).  He cut one into blocks for me and I covered the fronts with scrapbooking paper and cut vinyl letters to go on them.

What do you think?

Baby Noah is one month today.  Time flies!  He's still being a little angel (so grateful for that!), but of course he (and his brother) are still keeping my very busy!
