{Blissful and Domestic} Fall Craft Plate

Hello lovelies! Did everyone start a Fall countdown with their littles last week?
If not, their is still time. Let's make the holidays fun for our littles!
Today I am continuing with my challenge to keep with Fall decorating.
No red and green yet for this sista!
I have a simple, fun fall craft for you today.
So let's get our craft on!
I love re-purposing, so everything I used for this project, I already had on hand.

Photobucket

Here is what you will need:

1 glass plate
white acrylic paint
paint brush
scrap fabric and lace
glue gun

I started out with an old glass plate. It is from a set we don't use anymore.

Photobucket

I painted it white and let it dry over night.
(depending on the original pattern of the plate
you may need more than 1 coat of paint. I did 2coats)

Once my paint was dry I added some vinyl.
I used the word "Fall" printed out in brown vinyl.

Photobucket

I applied the vinyl

Photobucket

Photobucket

I am loving it already!

Now I knew I needed to add some extra cuteness.
Right now it is just a bit to blah.

Photobucket

I busted out my scraps of fabric and lace trim.

Photobucket

I then made three rosettes in different colors.

Photobucket

I added some lace.
Also place and check to see if you like it, before gluing.

Photobucket

Once I liked it I glued my lace in place.
I bunched it when glueing.
I then added my rosettes

Then I was done!

Now I have another new Fall Decoration for my house.

{Blissful & Domestic} Thanksgiving Countdown

Photobucket

Hello ladies and Gents. Now I know once Halloween is over everyone goes into red and green mode and I know I am at fault of this as well. I count down the days to setting up my tree and stockings. I love LOVE love Christmas and can't wait for Thanksgiving turkey to be done, so I can pull stuff out of their boxes and decorate my home. That being said, I have decided I need to give Thanksgiving a fighting chance in my home. The jack-o-lanterns and ghosts have been put away and are now being replaced with fall leaves and flowers.

Now that Fall decorating is underway,
I think it is time for another holiday countdown with the littles.

Originally I didn't have plans of a Thanksgiving countdown, but when my littles asked for one I couldn't say no. I just can't turn down adorable red heads asking me to plan some fun for them. Once the request was placed, I came up with all of the stuff below in just a matter of minutes. I sat down and googled ideas on my Ipod and the ideas started flowing.

Here is what we will be doing this month to celebrate....

Make Turkey Shirts
Make Paper Bag Pumpkins
Mock Turkey Dinner
Make a Thankful Tree
Make a Pumpkin Treat
Watch Parade on TV
Thanksgiving Dinner With Family
Have a Turkey Play date
Decorate Cookies
Bring a Treat to a Neighbor
Make Hand print Turkey Decorations
Make a Leaf man and read Leaf Man by Lois Elhert
Talk about Squanto and make an Indian craft
Watch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Read Thanksgiving Day Books
Play "Cross the Sea"
Play Turkey Trot Game
Play Find the Turkey (hot and cold game)
Do a Turkey Craft
Play Name that Turkey Tune

I tried to keep it pretty simple.
Just a list of fun ideas to keep the festivities going this month.

We kicked off our Fall fun last Friday.

We started out with a Treasure hunt for their Thanksgiving Basket full of goodies.
I used a basket we already had and filled it with goodies from around the house.

Photobucket

I requested a bunch of Thanksgiving books from the library and put them in our basket. I then included items to make our Turkey shirts, paper bag pumpkins, and our thankful tree. The little brown bag things are full of candy. It was an idea I saw on pinterest.

Photobucket

We then got to painting our Thankful Tree. This idea is very similar to what my friend  Tasha shared with me last week. Each day we write one thing we are thankful for. We add it to our tree and by the end of the month our tree will be full of thankful goodness.

Photobucket

I let my littles practice cutting and painting. It was a fun activity to do together.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We incorporated this into our home-school day.
HERE is what we did last year to celebrate fall during school.

I am thankful for little children who let me be creative. Who enjoy the time I take into making each day fun.
They are worth the lost hours minutes of sleep.
They are worth the time planning and creative fun for them.
They are worth it all.
They make each day fun and I am thankful I get to experience the holiday fun with them. They bring so much joy into my everyday.

I hope you guys get the chance to celebrate and have fun with
your littles this week.

Blissful & Domestic: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Photobucket

Photobucket
Hello lovelies! Happy Pumpkin Day!! Since I know we are all excited to get our littles ready for trick or treating, I decided to keep it simple. I am sharing a super easy cookie recipe, which is perfect for this fabulous Fall season we are falling into.

Photobucket

I love baking and sharing that yumminess with my littles,
which is why I love making my Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies.

These are so simple and take very little time.
Plus your littles can help, which is always a plus in my book.

Photobucket

Photobucket

So here is what you need:

1 can of pumpkin
1 box of spice cake mix
2 cups of chocolate chips
(my hubby prefers a lot of chocolate chips)

Photobucket

Here is What you do:

Photobucket

Find a sweet little helper.
Mine happened to have found me.
It is like she knows when I am going to bake.
She climbs right on the counter and waits for me to give her direction.

Photobucket

Add all ingredients together in a bowl.
Let your helper do the mixing.
Spoon small mounds onto a baking pan.

Bake at 350' for 15 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy!

Photobucket

So Easy Peasy

Hope you are enjoying the Autumn weather with your littles
and Happy Baking from Blissful and Domestic.

Blissful & Domestic: Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Photobucket

Photobucket

To have a little Halloween fun, we had a scavenger hunt. I found some fun stuff in the dollar section at Target, items to make a few Halloween crafts, and a new Halloween movie for my littles. I originally thought these treats would just be waiting for them in the morning, but knew a scavenger hunt would be 100 times more fun. Who doesn't love a good scavenger hunt. No child under 8 that I know of.

I found a 5pk of glitter pumpkins at Target, for $1. I wrote clues to where they could find their goody basket. The clues took them throughout our house.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It was so fun seeing how giddy they got while searching for each clue.
Totally worth all the planning.

They ended up finding their goodies behind mom and dad's bedroom door.

Photobucket

They posed for a picture, before they dug into to see what treats were waiting.

Photobucket

Here is what was included and the break down of cost:

2 Halloween pens  $1 each
2 Halloween velvet art work $1 each
1 pack of Hershey candy bars .72 cents
1 package of tootsie pops $2.78
1 package orange napkins .75 cents
1 box of marshmallow ghosts $1.99
Haunted Mansion DVD $9.99
2 PEZ glow in the dark dispensers .99 cents each

Total:  $22.23

Photobucket

Not to bad when we're talking about goodies for two kids. I also included a few goodies for some Halloween countdown crafts. I put labels on them.

Photobucket

All these goodies gave us an afternoon of fun. They colored their pictures, ate PEZ, begged for me to plan another scavenger hunt, and made pumpkin lollipops. This was a craft from their Halloween countdown. Want to know how we did it?
Well scroll down to see how. These were easy and fun for the littles.
